About this toolkit

The RHC for Health Professionals toolkit contains information about the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow such as referral guidance, clinical guidelines, information about clinical services and networks and links to patient information materials.
Our content has been checked for accessibility in line with the relevant RDS standard operating procedure.
Authorship
The content in this toolkit has been developed by NHSGGC Paediatric clinical staff, with reference to relevant National and International guidance as appropriate.
Review and approval
All guidance has been reviewed and approved by the relevant departmental governance group.
Guidance is considered for regular update on a schedule set by the author and their department and all such updates will then go through the appropriate review and approval process.
Any minor updates brought to the attention of the editorial team will be dealt with on an "as needed basis".
Content updates on the Right Decision Platform will be carried out by the Knowledge Manager.
RDS automated alerts when review is due will be sent to the guideline author and/or designated departmental guideline lead.
Version and review dates for each page are visible on the right hand side panel. A warning notice is displayed if content has passed its review date.
All guidelines authors have ensured that permission has been granted for the re-use of tools and measures, diagrams or images produced by external sources.
The guidance included in this toolkit is based on a review of the relevant literature, including National and International guidance, combined with expert consensus and assessment of suitability for the Scottish healthcare context, and acceptability to the patient population in Scotland.
We encourage users of this toolkit to use our feedback form to highlight any feedback or complaints. NHSGGC also has a complaints procedure which can be used.
Any messages received through the generic RDS Feedback form will also be forwarded to the Knowledge Manager for the toolkit and passed on to the clinical teams as appropriate.
Content authors and the editorial team will acknowledge the feedback promptly and endeavour to address it in a timely manner. If content requires significant amendments, the appropriate guideline group will assess whether it should be withdrawn awaiting update or can remain on the site with an appropriate statement.
The toolkit has been risk assessed, and mitigations put in place where required.
Functional testing, usability testing and user acceptance testing of this toolkit were carried out with NHSGGC Clinicians before its publication.
