We accept non urgent requests for assistance via Emis Web inbound referrals for:
- Cases of suspected weight faltering
- Overweight/obesity
- Suspected non IgE cow’s milk allergy
- Faddy eating
Please follow Infant Feeding Guidelines for breast fed infants under 6 months.
The Growth and Nutrition Advisory Service will support the health visitor/ family nurse to manage problems in the community for the nutritional issues.

- Birthweight
- Recent weights and lengths or heights
- Feeding difficulties (including observations from witnessed feed if available) - eg slow to feed, aversion, distress etc.
- Symptoms
- Reflux
- Constipation
- Diarrhoea, mucus in stools, blood in stools
- Family history of obesity and parental BMI if available
- Any other health or social concerns as well as listing any other professionals involved
- If the child is acutely unwell, they should be seen by a GP and referred acutely in the usual way
- Children currently attending paediatrics and dietetics – unless requested directly from these services
