- Scoliosis – should be referred to paediatric orthopaedics.
- Possible normal variant (toe walking, varus/valgus lower limb deformity/intoeing) – should be discussed with paediatric physiotherapy at the local child development centre.
- Plagiocephaly - should be discussed with paediatric physiotherapy at the local child development centre.

GPs can refer patients to paediatric physiotherapy electronically through SciGateway if they meet the following criteria;
- Child is under 14 years old
- Have a Greater Glasgow postcode
- Have a musculoskeletal complaint – peripheral joint/neck/back pain
- Have sustained a soft tissue injury
- Baby with torticollis/head preference +/- Sternomastoid thickening
